*SNIFF SNIFF* WHATS THAT SMELL? OH, ITS THE SMELL OF SERIOUS BULLSHIT
im not sure if this has been adressed already, and sorry if it has!! but as someone who has lived in the UK all my life i can confirm that this post is 100% BULLSHIT
i respect that the original poster may not have been aware that this was incorrect, but i am very much concerned for the amount of people that have spread this post around and have actually believed it, and that havent even taken the time out to research and find out if this crap is true or not. which it isnt.
firstly, we dont even use + or - grades, the only exception is an A* grade. our grades range from A*/A to G, and below that is a U.
secondly, our grading system ranges a lot, however its actually usually along the lines of -
90% - A*
80% - A
70% - B
etc etc
and you cant even really say there is a uk grading system, because of how much it varies from exam to exam, subject to subject, exam board to exam board!!
thirdly, this post angers and insults me as it implies that in the uk we just get to cruise through our education and bullshit our way into success, which is not true. this post implies that we in the uk dont need to work hard to get decent grades, but we do, we have to work hard to get good qualifications, just as much as any other student on this planet will have to.
so please signal boost this if you can because i dont want anymore people to be deceived into thinking that this is correct information when it is not, it is bullshit
thank you and have a lovely day!!

Also it’s calculated in relation to how everyone else in the country does so generally the top 5% or something like that get A/A*s and so on so there are actually NO definitive grade boundaries until AFTER everyone has done the exams and some years they just fuck it all up and decide to make the grade boundaries really high (see English Language GCSEs year before last) and people literally went down a whole grade from what they were predicted/ should have been which for some people means the difference between a PASS AND A FAIL. And then we have Tory twats like Gove fucking us over making thousands of students stay after school for hours EVERY DAY DURING VALUABLE REVISION TIME to redo TWO YEARS worth of IT work or simply throwing away that work entirely leaving them without a qualification so don’t you EVER FUCKING SAY BRITISH EXAMS ARE EASY I WILL FUCK YOU UP
